This week, MAIDEN TOMB is on tour with Love Books Tour.
So what does that mean?
In the past, being “on tour” meant that you, the author, had to visit a list of bookstores that stocked your book, sit down at a table and sign your books for a (hopefully) long line of adoring fans.
Naturally, in this twenty-first century of ours, things are done differently. Although many authors still visit bookshops, they tend to be the ones who have acquired an agent, and have a publishing house behind them. But if you are an Indie author like, then you have to resort to digital book tours.
About ten years ago, this meant paying someone to set you up with a list of bloggers. Nowadays, you were more likely to be interacting with influencers on Insta or TikTok. And so it is with Love Book Tours. Their speciality is Instagram (or bookstagram to be more exact.) And so they have set me up with nine influencers over a period of five days.
Already, I am very pleased with their efforts. Today (Day Three of the tour) I have received four reviews, three of which are very positive that I can post online.
If you are an author, and hesitating about doing virtual book tours, do your research to make sure you are signing up with a reputable company, and then go for it! I needed reviews, and that is what I got!
